EyeGate Seeks to Study Ocular Bandage Gel in Punctate Epitheliopathy

June 15, 2018: By Joan McKenna

EyeGate Pharmaceuticals announced May 30 that it was seeking authorization from the FDA to study its Ocular Bandage Gel for a second indication, punctate epitheliopathy.

The product is a cross-linked thiolated carboxymethyl hyaluronic acid platform being developed for the acceleration of re-epithelialization of large corneal epithelial defects.

The company originally sought to study the Ocular Bandage Gel in patients who have undergone photorefractive keratectomy.

Waltham-Massachusetts-based EyeGate also is developing EGP-437, reformulated dexamethasone phosphate delivered to ocular tissues through the EyeGate II Delivery System, for several indications.
