LENSAR Acquires Mobile Laser Unit of Precision Eye Services

LENSAR logoLENSAR announced Jan. 11 that it acquired the mobile laser business unit of Bloomington, Minnesota-based Precision Eye Services, Inc.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The mobile unit provides LENSAR lasers for refractive cataract surgery. It was a joint venture formed in 2014 by LENSAR and Precision Eye Services.

In May 2017, Orlando-based LENSAR became a wholly owned subsidiary of PDL BioPharma, based in Nevada.

In November 2017, LENSAR added industry veteran William J. Link, PhD, as chairman of its board.
