VA Temporarily Halts Use of IVT Avastin as Repackaging Triggers Safety Issues

Reports of severe eye infections following IVT Avastin injections in 21 AMD patients in three states have prompted the Veteran’s Administration to halt use of IVT Avastin pending a review. Repackaging of the cancer drug into IVT doses appears to be the culprit.
