HCA Aims to Take Over AmSurg in Potential Envision Acquisition

May 25, 2018: By Jon Swedien

HCA Healthcare, a US hospital operator, and KKR & Co., a private equity firm, have made an offer to acquire Envision Healthcare Corp., Reuters has reported.

HCA wants to acquire Envision’s AmSurg ambulatory surgery business, and KKR would take over the remainder of the business, the news agency said.

Nashville-based Envision has asked potential acquirers to submit final offers later this month, and other private equity firms competing for Envision include a consortium of Carlyle Group LP and TPG Global, according to Reuters.

In 2016, Nashville, Tennessee-based AmSurg—the largest operator of US ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs)—merged with Envision Healthcare of Greenwood Village, Colorado.
