iridex-1x1Iridex’ revenues increased to $10.9 million in Q3-2017, up 11 percent compared with Q3-2016, the Mountain View, California, company reported Nov. 2.

In Q3-2017, Iridex shipped 111 Cyclo G6 systems and approximately 7,800 G6 probes, the company said. The laser system is designed to reduce intraocular pressure without incisions or implants, potentially extending the time before more invasive measures are required.

Operating expenses for Q3-2017 were $7.4 million compared with $5.5 million in the same period of the prior year. The increase is attributable to investments to support Iridex’ commercial infrastructure, including increased sales and marketing expenses, the company said.

Loss from operations in Q3-2017 was $3.1 million, compared with a loss of $1.2 million in Q3-2016, Iridex said. Iridex said it had cash and cash equivalents of $22.8 million, as of Sept. 30.
