Santen Ventures Invests $1 Million in Qura’s QSmart System

July 6, 2018: By Jon Swedien

Santen Ventures has made a $1 million investment in Qura’s Series A financing to support its QSmart System, Boston-based Qura announced July 3.

The QSmart System is an implantable pressure sensor and monitoring system made to continuously detect and track changes in intraocular pressure (IOP). The wireless and micro-sized sensor can be programmed to a physician’s specifications to continuously monitor and collect the most relevant data concerning IOP changes.

Data are delivered to a desktop computer, hand-held device, or tablet. This allows physicians to evaluate the effectiveness of their patients’ glaucoma treatments in real-time.

The system is currently in the preclinical stage of development.

InFocus Capital Partners initiated and sponsored the Series A round.
