AffaMed Licenses Evolux Enhanced Monofocal IOL from SIFI for Greater China Market

China’s AffaMed Technologies announced Oct. 10 that it had entered into an agreement with SIFI, of Italy, to manufacture, develop, and commercialize SIFI’s Evolux enhanced monofocal intraocular lens (IOL) for the Greater China market.
No financial details were provided.
The lens is made of a hydrophobic material and has a non-diffractive profile, designed to provide better intermediate vision and equivalent distance vision when compared with a standard monofocal IOL, SIFI says.
The Evolux deal builds on AffaMed’s previous IOL licensing agreement with SIFI, dating to 2021, which covered the Mini Well, Mini Well Toric, Mini 4 Ready, and Mini Well Proxa lenses.
