Corza Medical, of Westwood, Massachusetts, reported Oct. 21 that it had launched its Onatec ophthalmic microsurgical suture portfolio of needles and suture material.
The company said Onatec needles are made from highly tempered stainless steel, designed to ensure high bending resistance and durability.
The Onatec automated manufacturing process is intended to provide precise needle geometries and accurate grinds, enabling stitching of fine tissue in small spaces, while the goal of the needles’ high quality finish process is to ensure optimal penetration, resulting in less trauma to the tissue and enhanced patient comfort.
Available suture materials are absorbable, non-absorbable, and pseudo-absorbable.
Corza’s other brands include Quill barbed sutures, Sharpoint Plus and Look surgical sutures, Katena reusable and Blink single-use ophthalmic instruments, Barron corneal transplant devices, Sharpoint microsurgical knives, and the TachoSil fibrin sealant patch.
The company has 3 thousand employees.
