Laser company Ace Vision Group announced Nov. 1 that it had named Rob Kissling, MD, as chief medical officer.
Most recently, Kissling served as vice president of clinical and medical affairs at Bausch + Lomb, where he oversaw medical development of the company’s pharmaceutical, surgical, and consumer product portfolio.
Ace, of Boston, Massachusetts, is developing laser scleral microporation, a procedure targeting presbyopia that uses the company’s VisioLite ophthalmic laser to create arrays of partial-thickness micropores in the sclera. Ace says the procedure allows the ciliary muscles to move more freely, reviving the natural process of accommodation.
The company also announced the addition of four ophthalmologists to its medical advisory board: Cathleen McCabe, MD; James Katz, MD; Ehsan Sadri, MD; and Dagny Zhu, MD.
